What to Look For in a Double Pushchair 3 Wheeler

The first double buggy that is modular It grows with your family, switching from single to tandem in seconds and allowing car seats. It comes with a spacious basket, and foam-filled tyres that never wear out.

Our MFM testers were impressed with its unique one-handed folding mechanism and the clever mechanism for attaching and remove the newborn cocoons. However, they found it was not as responsive on rough terrain as other models with larger wheels.

Comfort

A good quality double pushchair 3 wheeler should be comfortable for both baby and parent with a padded seat and hood that covers their heads. You can also find an array of colours and accessories that match your personal style. Many models come with multiple position seats that recline and some have a lie flat mode for infants. Some are lightweight too making them easy to lift into the boot, or up and down kerbs.

When looking for a model with two seats, look out for extra features that make the journey more comfortable, such as soft suspension and an oversized basket. Certain models come with frames that expand in width to accommodate the second seating position. This lets them pass through narrow doors, and they are more maneuverable in rough terrain. Some models feature a standing fold which makes use of less space in storage. Some models come with a handy bag for transporting the buggy.

The Roma Gemini is a good example of a side-byside buggy that is wider than a single buggy but is still capable enough to be used in theme parks and cities. They're also generally more easy to move to and from kerbs, unlike some other twin-seaters, thanks to their more evenly weight distribution. They are suitable for babies up to four years older. Some models allow you to connect carrycots or child car seats to prolong their lifespan.

A few can be transformed into a three-child set by incorporating a buggyboard for older, mobile children (UPPAbaby vist v2 double).
